Value of 1770 Rev. George Whitefield Medal

This medal commemorates the great speaker, Reverend George Whitefield upon his death in 1770. Obverse displays a bust of Whitefield, facing three-quarters to the right wearing a tightly curled wig and the band and robes befitting the clergy. The legend states, “The Rev. George Whitefield”. An artist’s signature appears on the obverse signed T.P.F. The reverse displays a cherub sitting next to a skull atop an urn that is draped with a cloth. The exergue states, “B. 16. D. 1714. D. 30. S. 1770”, which give the dates of Whitefield’s life.
