The Annual Assay medal for 1906 displays President, Theodore Roosevelt on the obverse. Roosevelt faces to the left, wearing a suit and tie. The legend reads, “Theodore Roosevelt” and in the exergue, “President of the United States”. The reverse displays a shield in the center, upon which is a set of scales and key separated by a row of stars. An eagle tops the shield and the entire scene is surrounded by a scroll pattern. Fifty-six silver medals and four bronze medals were struck in 1906 and several mules with incorrect obverse or reveres were made.
