This So-Called Dollar is given the catalog number HK-389

The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads S.F. Portola Cal, Official Souvenir Festival Oct. 19 23, 1909 and the reverse text is Pat Apld Discovery of Bay of San Francisco, First Governor of California, Jan. 9, 1769 by Gaspar de Portola. The front side of the coin shows a bear in the lower center with a banner overhead and a partial wreath surrounding to either side of the bear, two lines of text at the bottom edge. The backside of the coin depicts a man to the right side of the coin with two lines of text surrounding to most sides, a sunset in the distance that the figure appears to be looking at.
