The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Alaska, Jan. 3, 1959, 49th State and the reverse text is Hawaii 50th State, Aug 21, 1959. The front side of the coin shows large decorative text surrounding the inner circle with the shape of Alaska within, 13 stars offset to the right side and a single large star set off to the left. The backside of the coin depicts descriptive text surrounding with 13 stars to the right and a single star to the left, an outline of the state in the center.
