The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Columbus 1892 1492 Souvenir Medal and the reverse text is Celebrated in Chicago Oct 21-1892 400 Anniversary of the Discovery of America. The front side of the coin shows a statue of Columbus in the center, standing and holding a globe in his left hand, text surrounding and his name above. The backside of the coin depicts a ship, the Santa Maria in the center of the coin with horizontal text in the center with a star below and two lines of arching text above the boat.
