The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads California Gold Rush Centennial 1849 1949 California. The front side of the coin shows a covered wagon carrying men and supplies towards an outline of the state of California, the two dates are positioned at the bottom with a star on each side, making three total stars and circular text surrounding, two oxen are pulling the wagon. The backside of the coin depicts a miners pan and tools, including a pick axe and shovel in the center with a wide blank border.
