The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads The centennial year of our National Independence 1876 and the reverse text is 1776 Battle of Moore’s Creek Bridge February 27 1 No. Carolina. The front side of the coin shows the naked bust of Washington in the center with a circle of 34 stars surrounding the bust and the date below his head. The backside of the coin depicts a circle in the center showing rays, the date held within and text to the outside, a wreath made of oak leaves surrounds right inside of the beaded border.
