The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads N.S.G.W. Armored Cruiser California Launched April 28 1904 and the reverse text is Eureka. The front side of the coin shows a boat in the center with a banner below and text above and surrounding. The backside of the coin depicts a female figure in the center with her left hand resting on the state seal in an oval patter, a bear at her feet and the mountains in the background with rays coming from over the ocean.
