The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads C. Reinsch, Landing of Columbus and the reverse text is Discovery of America 1492 Columbian Fair Chicago Illinois, U.S.A. 1893. The front side of the coin shows a scene depicting the landing of Columbus and his men in the new World, Columbus towards the center, although offset to the right just a bit, with men surrounding holding swords and crosses. The backside of the coin depicts decorative circus text commemorating the event.
