This token typically receives the Hard Times Designation of HT-250.

The obverse text reads “PB&S Deveau’s 156 Chatham Square. N. York” and the reverse text reads “Wholesale & Retail Boot & Shoe Store, 156 Chatham Square N.Y. 1837.” The obverse of the token shows the bust of Liberty looking to the left, and the reverse has a boot in the center surrounded by text.
