This Token Came From – L.G. Irving Hardware Store

This token typically receives the Hard Times Designation of HT-282.

The obverse text reads “He Who Lives By The Sweat of His Brow Seldum Lives in Ruin J.S. Pease & Co St. Louis L.G. Irving N-York” and the reverse text reads “J.S. Pease & Co St Louis Mo Importers of Hardware & Cutlery.” The obverse of the token shows an anvil with an arm hammering, and the reverse is text.
