This token typically receives the Hard Times Designation of HT-194.

The obverse text reads “Nathl. March Bookseller & Stationer No. 7 Exchange Buildings Portsmouth N.H 1837” and the reverse text reads “William Simes & Co Dealers in Teas, Wines, & Groceries, No. 1 Peirce’s Buildings Portsmouth, N.H.” The obverse of the token and the reverse of the token have text that is shaped in a curved orientation.
