The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads The Declaration of Independence 1776 and the reverse text is To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The front side of the coin shows the painting, The Signing of the Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull in the center, with a slight variation from previous medals bearing this image, the rear wall lacks a figure to the right of the window, figures are all shown in profile view as opposed to varying views. The backside of the coin depicts a decorative border of cavalry and infantry surrounding the coin with the bust of George Washington in the center and single and double lines of text surrounding.
