The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads The centennial year of our National Independence 1876 and the reverse text is Battle of Lake Champlain October 11 & 12 1776 5 New York. The front side of the coin shows a bust of General George Washington in the center with lines of text and stars surrounding his head and the date at the bottom on the coin. The backside of the coin depicts a circle in the center with rays coming from it, date inside and text surrounding, an oak wreath is below.
