The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Christopher Columbus Discoverer 1492 and the reverse text is 400th Anniversary of the Discovery of America Oct. 12 1892. The front side of the coin shows the bust of a man, identified as Christopher Columbus, in the center with a thick border surrounding his head, text within the thick border with a hairline raised border along the outer edge of the coin. The backside of the coin depicts an image in the center depicting the discovery of land by Christopher Columbus, text surrounding with a beaded border, men holding swords and crosses, some men kneeling while the other men are standing.
