The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads California the Exposition State Tower of Jewels San Francisco 1915 and the reverse text is Panama Canal Completion Exposition, San Francisco 1915. The front side of the coin shows the Tower of Jewels in the center of the coin with text arching in two lines above and the location of the Expo, along with the date, listed below. The backside of the coin depicts a ship passing through the Panama Canal in the center with the date split to either side of the coin and text surrounding, one inner beaded border and one outer beaded border surrounding the entire design.
