The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Souvenir visit of U.S. Naval Fleet San Francisco, Cal. Fighting Bob Rear Admiral Evans, 1908. The front side of the coin shows a bust of Admiral Evans, Fighting Bob facing the right side of the coin with text and the date surrounding him, a beaded border encloses all of the design. The backside of the coin depicts three sturdy ships sailing towards the face of the coin and the sun setting in the background, the rear of the coin lacks text.
