W-1 | C-1, B-1 | Breen dies: 1-A. | This issue represents the first year of coinage in the half cent denomination since 1811. There is an estimated 300 to 500 examples of 1825 Classic Head Half Cent, W-1 extant, making this variety scarce but available enough to satisfy today’s collectors. The lowest curl in Liberty’s tresses is centered over the 5 of the date. This coin was minted at the Old Philadelphia Mint.

W-2 | C-2, B-2 | Breen dies: 2-A. | Some 3,500 to 4,500 examples of this variety are estimated to exist _ the date of 1825 Classic Head Half Cent, W-2 and variety is often selected for inclusion in type sets. The lowest curl in Liberty’s tresses is centered over the left edge of the 5 in the date, the reverse is the same as the preceding.
