Quality varies greatly with the 1901-O Morgan Silver Dollar issue, typical for a New Orleans Mint product. Circulation strikes are below average to average, with sharply struck specimens in the minority. Great quantities of 1901-O dollars were released in the 1960s and are plentiful even in Mint State. The luster is usually satiny and quite attractive. Bagmarks are common. There are no proofs available from the New Orleans mint for this year.
Easy to Find UNCs, so Circs Don’t Bring Big Paydays: Easy enough to find though demand is small owing to the availability of Mint State coins. Worn examples are usually tied to the price of silver.

Collectors will have no problem finding a Mint State-65 example though a coin with a bold strike and minimal bagmarks can be elusive. Check and recheck for strike and eye appeal before buying.

The reverse of the Morgan Dollar has an eagle in the center with its wings spread and a wreath surrounding.
