The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads C.W. Whipple & Co. West Field Mass. One Dollar Legal Tender. The front side of the coin shows an eagle with spread wings, similar to a Morgan Dollar, wreath below and text surrounding. The backside of the coin depicts the reverse or strike-through from the obverse side of the coin, complete with mirrored lettering.
