Value of 1795 BB-29 Flowing Hair Silver $1 Coin
Portrait II (Head of 95), Eagle II, Wreath II (3 leaves)
This Dollar has the catalog numbers: Bowers Borckardt-29, or Bolender-22
Obverse: Flowing hair in six curls, the lowest curl passing through a point of first star, and continues to right, ending in a sharp point. Second curl from bottom points downward to space between two points of second star. Hair at top is flat and lacks any “wave.” Wide date, the 7 and 9 closer than other figures. Letters IB spaced too widely. Letter B leans to right, as do also the T and Y. E in LIBERTY is repunched.
Reverse: Three leaves beneath each wing. The only variety with 12 berries, six on left branch and six on right. Berries on outside of wreath include those under left side of D, under the left side of the S in STATES, and under the center of M. One of the inside berries is below the center of M. No berry opposite either I on outside of wreath. A cluster of four leaves passes over top of the eagle’s right wing.
