This medal was struck for the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia in 1825. The obverse displays a bust of Benjamin Franklin. The legend around reads, “FRANKLIN INSTITUTE OF THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA, 1824; GOBRECHT.” The reverse displays a wreath surrounded a beautifully executed legend on the reverse. The legend reads, “FRANKLIN INSTITUTE OF THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA, 1824; GOBRECHT.” There are various reverses that state different years.
