1880 Mighty Dollar Medal

This medal is one of the three medals struck for the Mighty Dollar. All three medals are slightly different in weight and size. The obverse displays two conjoined busts of Mr. and Mrs. Florence. The legend around reads, “PRESENTED BY MR & MRS WM. J. FLORENCE.” The reverse displays a partial wreath at the base of the medal. The legend reads, “SOUVENIR THE MIGHTY DOLLAR.” This medal was first struck in March of 1877 and only 21 medals were struck.
