This So-Called Dollar is given the catalog number HK-669a

The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Town of Essex Massachusetts Incorporated Feb 15 1819 and the reverse text is 1819 1919 Commemorating the one hundredth anniversary of the Town of Essex Massachusetts. The front side of the coin shows a boat on stilts in the center that is being built, with the water-front right in front of the boat and a faint vision of the town in the distance, a rope border surrounding and four total stars. The backside of the coin depicts a banner at the top with a wreath and torch overlaid on it, a branch at the bottom and descriptive text below.
