There is no text on the obverse and the reverse of the token reads “The Federal Union It Must Be Preserved 1864.” The obverse of the coin shows 12 stars surrounding an Indian bust facing the left. The reverse of the token displays a man riding a rearing horse and holding his cap in the air.
