The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Semi Centennial Albany, Burgesses Corps and the reverse text is Oct. 8, 1833, Oct. 8, 1883, Semper Paratus, Tiffany & Co. The front side of the coin shows a city seal with a boat on top of the seal, a banner or ribbon lies below the seal and is surrounded by a plain line, text to the outside of the line and a beaded border to complete the design of the dollar. The backside of the coin depicts a beaded border enclosing the dates and text in the center, several decorative elements are within the coin.
