Value of 1926 Denver Mint Peace Silver Dollar

The 1926-D Peace dollar is one of the finest for overall quality in the entire series. Mostly free from die-crack imperfections, most coins show strong strikes and a nice luster. Manual retouching of the word GOD is a feature of all 1926 silver dollars. The issue is relatively easy to find in higher Mint State grades. Look for coins with no distracting marks on the neck and face of Miss Liberty.
1926-D Circs Are Basically Just Silver: The usual EF and AU rules apply here though you may need to search a bit harder than usual to locate an example. Despite the longer search, circulated 1926-D Peace dollars mostly just trade at their silver value.
High Grade 1926-D Peace Dollars Are Widely Available: The date is plentiful enough in grades such as MS-65 and MS-66 that most collecting budgets can accommodate a Gem Mint State 1926-D Peace dollar. Look for sharpness, luster, and minimal marks in any grade you choose _ quality is available for this date so don’t settle for less.

The obverse text on the Peace Dollar reads “Liberty; In God We Trvst (Trust); 1926.” The reverse text on the silver dollar reads “United States of America; E Pluribus Unum; One Dollar; Peace; D.” The obverse of the coin has a bust of a female facing the left with a pointed crown and flowing hair. The reverse of the Peace Dollar has an eagle sitting on a rock in the center with rays in the background.
