History, Information, and Value of 1973 Eisenhower Dollar

Value of 1973 Eisenhower Dollar

The 1973 Eisenhower Dollar was the most mishandled coin from the series. Workers at the Mint took no care in bagging the coins, so all coins will have at least some bagmarks. Even Mint Set coins will show rough surfaces. Hardly any of these coins have been submitted to PCGS or NGC for grading since they are bound to come back with a low grade.

The text on the Eisenhower $1 coin reads as follows. Obverse: LIBERTY; Date; IN GOD WE TRUST | Reverse: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA; E PLURIBUS UNUM; ONE DOLLAR.

If the text on your Eisenhower Dollar does not match what is shown above, then your coin may either be fake or a different variety not yet discovered. If you are uncertain about the authenticity of your coin, please contact one of’s trusted professional coin dealers to have your coin looked at.
