Value of 1781 Nathanael Greene at Eutaw Springs Medal
This meal commemorates the battle at Eutaw Springs, which took place in 1781. Obverse features a bust of Nathaniel Green, facing to the left. The legend reads, “The American Congress to Nathaniel Green, the distinguished leader.” Reverse depicts Victory on a trophy of arms. The trophy of arms contains swords, helmets, spears, and shields, along with laurel branches in the background. The legend reads, “The safety of the Southern territories.” And in exergue, “The enemy vanquished at Eutaw, Sept. 8, 1781.” The artist’s signature is visible near the sword-hilt as “Dpre”
