History, Information, and Value of 1892 Visit of the Buffalonians to Philadelphia Medal

This medal honors the a visit made by a group of college students known as the Buffalonians to the city of Philadelphia. The obverse displays the seal of Philadelphia. There is no legend. The reverse displays a bison facing to the left. The legend around the bison reads, “COMMEMORATIVE OF THE VISIT OF THE BUFFALONIANS. PHILADELPHIA MAR. 31. 1892.” According to records there were four silver and two gold medals struck.
