The Annual Assay medal for 1960 displays an image of current President, Dwight Eisenhower on the obverse. Eisenhower faces to the left and his name is on the legend around his head. The reverse displays four figures surrounding a woman in the center that stands for Freedom and holds a sword and stands above a shield. The figures represent Plenty, Industry, Commerce, and Chemistry. The legend reads, “Atoms for Peace” and “United States Mint Annual Assay 1960”. The artists’ initials, E. Von Hebel is visible on the lower right.
