The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Battle Creek Centennial 1931 and the reverse text is 1831. The front side of the coin shows a skyline in the upper portion of the design with clouds in the background and three lines of text below, a beaded border surrounding the design. The backside of the coin depicts a nearly text free design other than the date in the lower center of the coin, a cabin in the woods and by the river in the center, two male figures pulling a canoe from the river with sky and trees in the background.
