The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Philadelphia Exposition Philadelphia PA, U.S.A. Sept. to Nov 1899 and the reverse text is National Export Exposition, Sep. 14 to Nov. 30 1899. The front side of the coin shows a shield in the center, the shield of the City of Philadelphia, with scales resting above the heads of the two women standing at the center, ribbons below and text surrounding with a beaded border. The backside of the coin depicts the building in the center stretching from one side of the coin to the other, with two lines of text below the illustration of the building and arching text above the buildings.
