Obverse die with widely spaced date, 8 slightly higher and 4 larger than other numerals. Same reverse as the preceding 1833 issue. Chiefly available in EF or AU, there is no shortage of 1834 Classic Head Half Cent Mint State coins for those who range that high in their collecting pursuits. This coin was minted at the Old Philadelphia Mint.
The text on the obverse of the coin reads “Liberty, 1834” and the reverse text on the Classic Head Half Cent reads “United States of America, Half Cent.” The obverse of the coin shows a womans bust facing the left with 13 stars surrounding her head and the date below.
