History, Information, and Value of 1852 Braided Hair Half Cent

Value of 1852 C-SR-1 Braided Hair Half Cent

W-1 | Original, Large Berries, Proof | C-SR-1, B-1 | Breen dies: 1-A. | Fewer than a half dozen are believed to be known of 1852 Braided Hair Half Cent W-1, one of the great rarities among Proof half cent varieties. Mrs. Emery May Holden Norweb, one of the preeminent names in 20th century numismatics searched for decades for an example of this rarity. From the only obverse used for this Proof-only issue. The date seems overly large and crowded in the space allowed.
