This medal honors the Lexington Centennial. The obverse displays an image of a Minuteman on a shield in the center. The legend around reads, “1642 CAMB. FARMS 1713 APRIL 19TH. ‘WHAT A GLORIOUS MORNING FOR AMERICA’; LEXINGTON.” The reverse simply reads, “CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF THE BATTLE OF LEXINGTON APRIL 19, 1875.” According to records, 4 gold, 100 silver, and 200 bronze medals were struck at the Mint. Any white metal medals were struck outside the Mint.
