This Token Came From – Boston, Massachusetts

The obverse text on the token reads “John C. Heenan Champion of America 1859.” The reverse text on this token reads “Jos. H. Merriam Die Sinker 18 Brattle Square Boston Medals Struck In Gold Silver, Copper Or Tin.” The obverse depicts a bust of John Heenan in the center facing the right. The reverse of the token shows a small circle at the upper center with a bust facing left in is, with ornamental text surrounding the entire field.
