Value of 1907-S $20 Double Eagle
The typical 1907-S double eagle is noticeably abraded with soft striking detail to the high points of Libertys portrait and several of the obverse stars. On the other hand, high grade coins are usually very lustrous in either a satin or frosty texture. Enough coins have survived that the 1907-S is readily obtainable in both worn condition and Uncirculated grades through MS-64. On the other hand, this issue is surprisingly rare in Gem Mint State, and the finest certified example is a solitary MS-65+ listed at PCGS.
