Value of 1926 St. Gaudens $20 Gold

The typical example is sharply struck with excellent luster. Uncirculated survivors range from heavily abraded to overall smooth, with most displaying at least a few noticeable marks.
Often grouped with the 1924, 1927 and 1928 as a common date Saint-Gaudens double eagle, the 1926 St. Gaudens is actually quite a bit scarcer in all grades, especially above MS-65. However, enough coins have survived that locating a suitable example in the MS-60 to MS-66 grade range should be an easy task. Superb Gems are elusive, however, with the finest known to PCGS and NGC grading MS-67.
