The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads San Francisco Earthquake & Fire Ruins of City Hall Souvenir and the reverse text is April 18, 1906 California Street, San Francisco, Cal. The front side of the coin shows city hall in the center of the dollar with serious fire damage, text arching over the top of the coin with two lines of text below within a beaded border. The backside of the coin depicts the streets of San Francisco with damage from the fire, text above and below in three lines total.
