History, Value, and Price Guide for 1797 BB-72 Draped Bust Silver $1

Value of 1797 BB-72 Draped Bust Silver $1 Coin

This Dollar has the catalog numbers: Bowers Borckardt-72, Bolender-2, or Haseltine-2

Obverse: 16 stars, arranged nine to the left and seven to the right. Highest wave of hair, below the upright of E, is lightly defined, probably due to insufficient depth of punching of the Draped Bust motif into the die.
Reverse: Described under 1795 BB-51, herewith repeated: Small Eagle. Small Letters in legend. Eagle stands on clouds. Wreath is composed of a palm branch and olive branch, the latter with seven berries. Berry under A of STATES; a quick way to identify this reverse.
Total Estimated Population: 200 to 300
