The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads The World’s Columbian Exposition Chicago 1893 and the reverse text is The Machinery Hall 850 ft. long 500 ft. wide, Cost $1,200,000. The front side of the coin shows an open wreath enclosing a portrait of Christopher Columbus in the center, stars and text surround within a beaded border. The backside of the coin depicts an engraved image of the Machinery Hall in the upper and center of the coin, several lines of text below the illustration and positioned on the lower half of the coin.
