The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Hendrik Hudson 1609 and the reverse text is Nieuw Amsterdam MCMIX H I Daalder. The front side of the coin shows a bust of Hendrik Hudson facing the right with a beaded border surrounding him, text within the border and Hudson dressed in a ruffled collar shirt. The backside of the coin depicts a ship in the center with the sun rising to the back left of the ship, water underneath and text surrounding, a beaded border encloses all of the design.
