The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Centennial Art Gallery Philadelphia in Memorial and the reverse text is 1776 Illustrating the growth and prosperity of a free people in a hundred years 1876, Pat Nov 3 1874 H & L. The front side of the coin shows an Art Gallery building in the center with a large dome on top, and a statue atop the dome, two lines of text above the building and two lines of text below the building. The backside of the coin depicts six total lines of text centered on the coin with a date at the top and the bottom.
