The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Centennial Art Gallery Philadelphia in Memorial and the reverse text is 1776 Illustrating the growth and prosperity of a free people in a hundred years 1876, Pat Nov 3 1874 H & L. The front side of the coin shows four total lines of text on the coin, two at the top and two at the bottom, a building in between that is the Art Gallery with a dome on top. The backside of the coin depicts 6 lines of text in the center with the engravers name at the very bottom.
