The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads The World’s Colvmdian Exposition Chicago 1893 and the reverse text is U.S. Government 445 x 415 feet 3.3 Acres Cost $ 400,000. The front side of the coin shows a bust of Christopher Columbus facing the left side of the dollar with an open wreath surrounding the portrait of the man, text surrounding to the outer edge of the medal. The backside of the coin depicts a building in the center with a dome on top and three lines of text below telling the cost and the value of the building.
