The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads The World’s Columbian Exposition Chicago 1893 and the reverse text is The Art Palace 320 x 500 feet, Cost $670,000. The front side of the coin shows an open wreath in the center surrounding the portrait of a man, identified as Christopher Columbus, text to the outer edge all surrounded by a beaded border. The backside of the coin depicts the Art Palace in the center of the medal with three lines of text listed below showing the value of the building and the dimensions of the floor plan.
