The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads A Century of Progress Esposizione Mondiale Chicago MCMXXXIII and the reverse text is Italia A XI Silva Johnson. The front side of the coin shows a nude male and female figure holding a torch to the sky, one figure’s foot is on a book while the other figure’s hand is resting on a pick axe, Fort Dearborn in the distance and text surrounding. The backside of the coin depicts a building in the center with 20 different airplanes flying towards the top right of the coin with text to the lower left of the coin.
