The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads I.M.H. de Young Proprietor, Meriden Brit’a Co Souvenir of the 25th Anniversary of the San Francisco Chronicle and the reverse text is 1890 Inauguration of the New San Francisco Chronicle Building. The front side of the coin shows a man in formal wear facing the left side of the coin with text surrounding in a large thick border with the star below. The backside of the coin depicts the date below a building in the center with the top of the building running into the border of the coin and text surrounding on the outside edge.
