The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Centennial Fountain Fairmount Park Dedicated to American Liberty July 4, 1876 Phila and the reverse text is General Washington 1776. The front side of the coin shows arching text above the fountain centered on the coin, consisting of five total statues of political figures, five lines of text below the statues. The backside of the coin depicts three separate lines of text surrounding a bust of President George Washington with the date below, nude bust of Washington.
